FAQs

  • This 15-minute call is a chance for us to connect and discuss what’s going on in your life right now. I’ll listen closely to understand your unique situation and share how psychotherapy can support you. We will explore how we can work together to help you feel better and navigate your challenges.

  • The first session is an initial consultation, lasting up to an hour, and is a chance to look deeper into what’s brought you to psychotherapy. Whether we meet online or in person at my consulting room, I’ll create a warm, welcoming space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and challenges.

You can expect me to listen with care and compassion, going at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Together, we’ll discuss how therapy can support your goals and agree on the details of our work, including session frequency, format, and duration. It’s a meaningful first step toward understanding yourself and finding lasting change.

  • Yes. Psychotherapy can help with understanding why you feel stuck, keep facing the same issues, or continue to suffer from your painful experiences. By working closely together, we will uncover hidden patterns and build ways to handle your difficulties.

Research shows it works. For example, a 2021 worldwide review of 331 studies found that all main types of psychotherapy bring clear improvements in how people feel, with 60–70% of patients reporting much better mood and daily life, lasting up to a year (Cuijpers P, et al. World Psychiatry. 2021;20(1):46-57).

A European study also showed that 60–70% of people with depression felt much better after regular psychotherapy sessions, with benefits lasting up to three years (Knekt P, et al. European Psychiatry. 2016;33:1-10.)

Whether you’re dealing with big emotions or just want to grow, psychotherapy offers a supportive space to find real, lasting change.

  • Individual sessions last for 50 minutes.

How many sessions we have will depend on your circumstances, and will be discussed in the initial consultation.

  • Yes, therapy is highly confidential. Everything you share during our sessions stays private and is not discussed outside the clinical setting. Your trust is paramount, and I’m committed to protecting your privacy.

In the rare case that there’s a serious concern about your safety, I’d have an open conversation with you about who we might need to contact to ensure you’re supported and safe, always prioritising your well-being and keeping you informed.

  • To ensure consistency, all missed or cancelled sessions are chargeable, as your regular time slot is reserved exclusively for you and cannot be offered to others. If you’re unable to attend a session, I’ll do my best to work with you to reschedule for another time, either in person or online, to keep your therapy on track. Please let me know as soon as possible if you need to make a change, and we’ll find a solution that works.
